SCENE 2 EXT.
(Est. shot of JERRY walking down the sidewalk. On the other end of the street, we see TONY at a half-jog pace following JERRY. Cut to Medium shot of JERRY walking.)

TONY (off-camera) Hey! Hold up young blood!

JERRY (looks off screen and smiles when he sees TONY) Hey Tony.

TONY (comes into frame, camera now on both individuals) Wassup? Wassup?

JERRY Not much.

TONY Whatchu doin? Chilling?

JERRY Just thinking, you know.

TONY Thinking or worrying?

JERRY Thinking… I think.

TONY Gotcha…. What about?

JERRY You know, life and all that’s in it - the important stuff.

TONY Oh no, you don’t want to do that. Stop thinking, start living.

JERRY Yeah? Maybe. Whatchu up to?

TONY Oh, you know. Checking out the ladies. Ladies, ladies, everywhere.

JERRY Ladies… ok.

TONY -About to go to Albertson’s before the shelter opens back up… 6 right?

JERRY Yeah 6… What will you get at Albertson’s?

TONY Hopefully I can find me a lady there.

JERRY Haha, ok. Yeah they have those there… I guess.

TONY Wanna come? We’ll check out the ladies, bro.

JERRY Maybe.

TONY Why maybe?

JERRY Eh, I’ve got things to do.

TONY No, you don’t. Come on, we’ll go over and check out the girls.

JERRY I don’t want girls. I’m looking for the One.

TONY No such thing. Holding someone down? Good luck.

JERRY Oh yeah?

TONY Yeah. Fuck ‘em and forget ‘em. (JERRY frowns and makes a disapproving sound.) That’s what I say.

JERRY (Looking off, trying to think of what to say next) What about… what about a relationship?

TONY Yeah. (TONY looks away as if considering deeply what he just said).

JERRY You know, you get to know somebody. You like spending time with them. All that.

TONY I mean, that’s great… if you can find someone you like spending time with - great.

JERRY That’s what I want.

TONY What about the Plaza?

JERRY What?

TONY We can check out the ladies over there. (TONY looks off-screen seeming to notice someone)

JERRY No, I’m good.

TONY She’s hot. (JERRY looks where TONY is looking) She’s fire. My Go-ud! Straight up goddess.

JERRY You gonna marry her?

TONY NAH! Just for the cold nights!

JERRY Let’s say she wanted to be with you, what would you do?

TONY I’d say, HELL YEAH!! Let’s get it on, BABY!!

JERRY (laughing) Ok…

TONY What would you do?

JERRY I don’t know, she’s pretty. Doesn’t mean we’d get along.

TONY What the fuck does that matter? You just say what you need to to make things work. Let’s go to the plaza.

JERRY You go to the plaza.

TONY You think too much. Let’s go and check out some hoes.

JERRY They’re not hoes.

TONY Ladies, bitches, hoes.

JERRY Garden tools?

TONY Hoes.

JERRY I don’t even know what that…

TONY C’mon. It’s this way…

JERRY No I’m not going.

TONY Where are you going?

JERRY I don’t know. I’m not going to wait around til 6 ogling women with you.

TONY Why? You’re a man, aintchu?

JERRY Yeah.

TONY Are you gay?

JERRY (Offended) No!

TONY Good.

JERRY What do you mean, good?

TONY I don’t think we’d be friends.

JERRY Why?

TONY Cuz you’d be looking at me n’ shit.

JERRY (under breath) Fuck.

TONY So you like women but you don’t like women?

JERRY I’m looking for the One.

TONY Good, we’ll look for her. I know where she’s at.

JERRY Where?

TONY The plaza.

JERRY (Smiling) She’s somewhere. Maybe she’s there. I don’t know.

TONY Worth a try.

JERRY Don’t you see a problem with looking at different women?

TONY No.

JERRY Don’t you believe in God?

TONY Yeah - that’s how he made me.

JERRY I don’t know about that.

TONY You think too much.

JERRY You think too little. (TONY looks around again and JERRY follows his gaze.) You gonna marry her too?

TONY Yeah, I’ll marry her.

JERRY Will you love her forever?

TONY Sure.

JERRY And what will you do when you fall for somebody else?

TONY No more than 2 at once. (Considering) Maybe 3.

JERRY That’s no way to live. I mean you can’t enjoy a relationship when you’re thinking of someone else.

TONY Hey let’s go find the One you’re looking for – this way.

JERRY No, I’m not going.
